Killer Mike, known for his lengthy rap career, is also recognized for helping Atlanta communities. To highlight his multiple contributions to his hometown, he was interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning.

Atlanta rapper Killer Mike is known for more than just his music. He is also an activist and a businessman. To discuss his life as a rapper and activist, he was recently interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning on Dec.11.

In his interview with Robert Costa, Killer Mike discussed many topics, including his music with the rap duo Run the Jewels and his talk show Love & Respect. Costa and the “Kryptonite” rapper met earlier this year on tour. 

Killer Mike also shared a brief description of his busy routine:

“I’m a freedom fighter on record,” he said. “I’m a Superman-like figure, but yesterday I was at a city council meeting in Atlanta [and] I was just a small business owner out of the entertainment community just Clark Kent-ing it.”

The 47-year-old rapper also responded to accusations of being “inconsistent” in his politics for being pro-Second Amendment and liberal politicians.

“You’re just choosing a team,” Killer Mike said. “Anything that becomes a mob mentality is not an individual thought or mentality. When you hear the same words come out of 20 people’s mouths within two or three weeks, then you know they’ve been programmed.”

The “oh la la” rapper has, in the past, urged Black people to vote and allow their voices to be heard.

This year, Killer Mike has also shown his support for Atlanta rappers Young Thug and Gunna, who were indicted on RICO charges through the Protect Black Art campaign. 

In October, Atlanta rapper Killer Mike released a song and video about politics and Black culture called “Talk That Sh*t.” 

In it, Killer Mike has scenes of barbershops, street corners, and strip clubs while rapping in a red leather jacket.
