Rappers Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, and Gunna were hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by Sun City over “Strawberry Peels,” a song featured on the deluxe version of Vert’s second album, Eternal Atake.

The three rappers, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, and Gunna are being sued by a publishing company, Sun City, for allegedly stealing the sample for their 2020 “Strawberry Peels” song.
Atlantic Records, alongside Uzi’s label, Atlantic Records, and Generation Now with producer Wheezy have also been named in the lawsuit.
The song that the Philadelphia native sampled was “Dem Da Lights” which was created in 1995 by Memphis rapper and producer Blackout.
Young Thug, who has also been named in the lawsuit, was recently sued alongside his company YSL Touring LLC for not being able to pay back concert fees of $150K after he had been arrested.
Recently, Roddy Ricch and producer 30 Rock have been hit with an infringement suit for the Grammy-nominated hit “The Box.” Singer, Greg Perry, said Ricch used parts of his 1975 song without giving him credit.
