Earlier in the week, Hit-Boy revealed that the beat for A$AP Rocky‘s “1 Train” wasn’t originally meant for the Harlem musician.

“First person I sent this beat to was Drake,” Hit-Boy tweeted. “He said he already had a joint on his album with a similar sound so at the end of my session with [A$AP] Rocky for ‘Goldie’ I played ‘1 Train’ instrumental and he took it and made it what it is.” 

That song with the “similar sound?” “Light Up” with Jay-Z on 2010’s Thank Me Later.

Meanwhile, Hit-Boy — who seems to be bringing back the Surf Club crew — connected with Offset for another single, “2 Live.”
