Pete Davidson is returning to 30 Rock. To promote his upcoming Peacock show Bupkis, the 29-year-old comedian will be hosting Saturday Night Live, his first time as a guest since leaving the show in 2022.

“He’s very excited to go back,” a source told Page Six about the upcoming SNL episode. “[Leaving the show] has been a change of pace for him, but in a good way.”

Bupkis, which premieres on May 4, is executive-produced by Lorne Michaels, creator of SNL. “Lorne has always been a huge supporter of Pete and his creative vision and Pete thinks the world of Lorne,” said the source quoted by Page Six.

Since leaving SNL, which he was a part of for eight years, Davidson has broken into film, including last year’s Bodies Bodies Bodies, and Peacock’s Meet Cute. Next, the Staten Island native will appear in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Dumb Money.

Davidson’s co-created show Bupkis will be an absurd and fictionalized version of his life. With Edie Falco portraying his mother and Joe Pesci as his grandfather, Davidson plays himself “as he attempts to work through unique family dynamics and the complexities of fame to form meaningful relationships,” per the official synopsis.

“Pete Davidson is one of the most sought-after comedians today with his smart, one-of-a-kind humor and honest point of view,” Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming said in a statement. “Bupkis will showcase Pete’s funny, surprising and unfiltered brand of comedy audiences have come to love.”
