Allow Us to Re-Introduce Ourselves

Rap nerds rejoice: Clipse‘s NPR Tiny Desk performance is officially here. Hours after their latest album, Let God Sort Em Out, hit streaming services, the duo’s lively NPR appearance began streaming on YouTube. Beginning with a performance of “I’m From Virginia,” it’s off to a pretty solid start, with both Push and Malice serving up showcase for stage presence and tonal control. It’s a sign of rappers who, senior as they may be, remain near the peak of their powers.
“I think hip-hop has kind of jinxed itself into thinking that there is such a thing as too old that should never be accepted,” Malice said in an interview for Clipse’s COMPLEX cover story. “Either you got the talent or you don’t. You could be old. You could be young. If you ain’t got it, then you don’t have it. You don’t stay young forever and if you try to stay young forever, you start looking funny.”
A word. Anyways, check out Clipse’s Tiny Desk performance as it premieres below. It should only get doper from here.
