Chris Smalls, the Amazon Labor Union leader, boarded the ‘Handala,’ a humanitarian flotilla carrying aid to Gaza. The ship was intercepted 50 nautical miles off Gaza’s shore by Israeli forces. Smalls appeared in a video saying he had been kidnapped and urged U.S. officials to demand his release, along with the 20 other civilians onboard, including activists, medics, journalists, and lawmakers.
