UPDATE (Sept. 29):
The indictment for Duane “Keefe D” Davis has been released and authorities are accusing Davis of providing the gun that killed Tupac Shakur.
According to legal documents provided by legal affairs reporter Meghann Cuniff, Davis has been indicted for murder with use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal street gang: the Southside Compton Crips. He is named in the grand jury indictment as the person who obtained a firearm for the “purpose of seeking retribution against Tupac Amaru Shakur and or Marion ‘Suge’ [Knight].”
The indictment lists the other three men in the car with Davis on the night of Tupac’s shooting as Terrance Brown, Deandre Smith and Orlando Anderson. Davis has previously named the late Orlando Anderson, who was jumped by Tupac, Suge Knight and others the night of the shooting, as the killer. Brown, Smith and Anderson have since since died.

ORIGINAL POST (Sept. 29):
Police have reportedly made an arrest in connection to the 1996 murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur.
On Friday (Sept 29), the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department apprehended a man believed to be involved in the murder of the late rapper, according to The Associated Press. Police reportedly booked Duane “Keefe D” Davis, 60, on Friday morning. However, his exact charges have yet to be disclosed. It’s been 27 years since Tupac was killed.
XXL has reached out to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for comment.
The arrest comes after police executed a search warrant on Davis’ home in connection to the cold case back on July 17. A few days later, more details about the raid were disclosed, revealing hard drives, computers, magazine articles and photos were seized from the home.
Tupac Shakur was shot in a drive-by near the Las Vegas strip on Sept. 7, 1996 following a Mike Tyson fight and died seven days later on Sept. 13, 1996. The shooting happened shortly after the rapper participated in jumping known Southside Compton Crip member Orlando Anderson, who is believed by some to be the shooter. Anderson was killed in 1998 in a non-related shooting. In 2011, reputed gang member Keefe D confessed to having knowledge of the murder of Tupac Shakur and revealed he was present during the shooting.
Hip-hop came out with a win in some way in these cases.
