Rap and business mogul Jay-Z has had a decent year of huge investments and celebrating his greatest achievements. Now, he is ending the year with his annual end-of-year playlist with his top 41 favorite songs of 2022.
HOV’s year-end Tidal playlist of his top favorite songs of 2022 featured projects by SZA (“Shirt” and “SOS), Drake and 21 Savage (“Jimmy Cooks), Kendrick Lamar (“Rich Spirit), Lil Baby (“In a Minute), Quavo and the late Takeoff (Hotel Lobby), and, of course, his wife, Queen Bey.
In fact, Jay included three songs from Bey’s latest album Renaissance, which included, “Plastic Off Your Sofa,” “America Has A Problem,” and “I’m That Girl.”
Fans have been buzzing on Twitter since the “Encore” rapper revealed the star-studded list.
One fan lightheartedly poked fun at Beyoncè being listed as No. 5 on Jay’s list:
However, the Barbz are not happy to not see Nicki Minaj on the list. A Barb tweeted, “Y’all can’t tell me jay loves Nicki when this playlist came out, yes hov is an opp and a hater.”
In other recent news, HOV’s past collaboration partner Alicia Keys was asked if she and Jay would do another collaboration like “Empire State of Mind” during an interview with E! News. The songstress admitted that they were hesitant due to its enormous success.
However, Alicia said she is still open to working with her “brother” again.
It’s clear Jay gives credit where its due. Recently, rap superstar Drake reached a new milestone, where he has tied with Jay-Z for the most No.1 albums on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B charts.
