Allow Us to Re-Introduce Ourselves

Drake has been teasing a forthcoming album on the heels of dropping the project’s lead single. The rapper dropped “What’d I Miss,” earlier in July, the lead single from the highly anticipated project — his first solo studio album since the start of his feud with Kendrick Lamar. The track shot all the way to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. While on tour in Birmingham, England, he played to the sold-out crowd and let them know Iceman is coming.
“I’m working on my album, Iceman, we got a lot to talk about,” he said. He’s been building buzz for the new album.
Just days earlier, Drake took some social media shots at Alex Warren after Warren’s single “Ordinary” blocked “What Did I Miss?” from the top spot.
“Suppressor on the 1 spot, Drake wrote on IG. “I’m taking that soon —don’t worry, one song or another…rule changes and all.”
According to Billboard, the No. 2 debut of “What Did I Miss?” gives Drake 81 Hot 100 Top 10 hits—the most in the chart’s 67-year history.
“What’d I Miss?” dropped just before his three-day headlining stint at 2025 Wireless Festival in the U.K. During the second night of a recent three-night run, he brought out several London-centric artists during the show, including hometown stars Skepta, Central Cee and Dave. Drake also made a proclamation about the prowess of emcees out of London.
“Nobody can out-rap London — nobody,” he told the crowd. “No disrespect to America. No disrespect to my country. But, nobody can out-rap London rappers. This is the best, this is the highest level. This is what I aspire to be.”
The declaration got social buzzing—amidst an ongoing debate surrounding British rappers versus their American counterparts.
