In November 2020, Jeremih was hospitalized in Chicago after testing positive for COVID-19. Things had gotten so bad, he was reportedly on a ventilator in the intensive care unit for a spell.

I say this to say that’s it’s great to see him returning to music after that scare. Following a cameo appearance at Omarion and Mario’s VERZUZ, the singer returns with his first single in a few moons (I’m still mad that “I Think of You” never got the push it deserved), “Changes.” Sampling Avant’s 2003 single “Read Your Mind,” Jeremih has also shared a visual for the focus track as well. Hopefully this means that the follow-up to 2015’s Late Nights is coming soon.
