Black Twitter, known for sparking many conversations are now comparing rap icon Lil Wayne and Lil Baby. The debate is ultimately whether or not the “A Milli” era of Lil Wayne is comparable to the current “ On Me” of Lil Baby.
Lil Baby
The Atlanta rapper is one of the hottest current artists and generated nearly 3 billion streams in 2022. He had an excellent 2022 rollout, with the premiere of his documentary, receiving his own day in his hometown for his contributions, and performing at the World Cup.
From his breakout hit “Freestyle” in 2017 and his Diamond Award-winning single with Gunna on “Drip Too Hard,” Baby already has an impressive catalog.
Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne, on the other hand, is an O.G. in the rap game. He started his career as a pre-teen at the age of 12. Signed to Cash Money Records since 1995, Wayne has a very extensive music catalog.
Wayne gave the world some of the most memorable hits and bars in his prime. The rap superstar dominated the charts from “A Milli” to the Diamond Award-winning “Lollipop” and is still pushing out projects to this day.
Lil Wayne is also the founder of Young Money Records which freshly brought iconic artists on to the scene such as Nicki Minaj and Drake.
The Lil Wayne-Lil Baby Comparisons
There is no debate that Weezy is an iconic veteran in this game. Since Lil Baby has only been in the game for seven years, many fans are saying it is unfair to compare the two.
Some are in favor of the “Yes, Indeed” rapper, claiming that his work has more substance, which benefits the youth.
In recent years, the debate over who’s the best between Michael Jackson and Chris Brown has heated up. Brown appeared on the radio show Big Boy’s Neighborhood and put the comparisons to rest.
However, they may be a lot more similar than even Chris may think.
