While on the Ugly Money podcast, Nicki Minaj’s former manager Debra Antney said Gucci Mane’s claims that he shot Jeezy’s CTE affiliate Pookie Loc in 2005 weren’t true.
“Don’t keep going on to something when it’s over with now,” Antney said on the podcast. “Technically you didn’t kill anybody, so let’s stop talking about that now because all these kids think that you’re the number one killer.”
In his 2020 Verzuz battle against his former rap rival Jeezy, the “Lemonade” artist mocked the situation by saying that he was smoking on a “Pookie Loc pack,” which sparked a wave of social media reactions during and after the matchup.
Gucci Re-Ignites Beef W/Jeezy In “Rumors”
Gucci Mane released a video with Lil Durk for his new song, “Rumors,” that could signal an end to the momentary peace between him and Jeezy.
Gucci references the killing of Jeezy’s homie Pookie Loc in the song, saying: “I think my house is haunted by the ghost of Pookie.” The sneaky tag could reignite the beef between the two rappers that was recently quelled during their Verzuz battle.
Pookie Loc was a rapper from Jeezy’s CTE label who Gucci Mane shot in self-defense in 2005 during their feud, which escalated with diss records like the 2012 song “Truth,” where Gucci referenced the murder of Loc, and added that Jeezy had “no success” with putting a bounty on his head.
The beef is said to have started when Jeezy was not granted his request to put the Jeezy + Gucci “So Icey” collaboration on his debut album, Thug Motivation 101.
The two Atlanta-raised rappers seemed to put things aside after their intense Verzuz battle in November 2020, which was decidedly won by Jeezy, according to fans.
Jeezy is being hit at a vulnerable time as he recently became a father. His wife Jennae Mai gave birth just days ago and the couple have been enjoying their family time and sharing tidbits about their new arrival.
