The late Memphis rapper Young Dolph has just been honored with a mural in Miami.
Young Dolph’s mural is located at Art Basel in downtown Miami. The orange background features Young Dolph looking directly into the center of the mural’s viewpoint.
On the first anniversary of his death, November 17, the “Preach” rapper was also posthumously honored in his hometown of Memphis with his own “Dolph Day of Service,” and a third suspect was indicted for his murder last month.
The mural was created in Miami since in 2018, Young Dolph performed at Rolling Loud Miami, and during his set, he said he flew out two students from Duke University who got fired for playing his song “Get Paid” while on their shift at a Starbucks. He gave $20,000 to the two students before they got a new job.
Before his death, Young Dolph did his best to turn frowns upside down. In 2018, he revealed that he compensated a couple of Duke University college workers who lost their jobs for playing his music.
Footage surfaced of Dolph explaining just how far he went to look out for the employees.
